Golf Courses of Ireland’s Ryder Cup Region

Esker Hills

More than 10,000 years ago, the retreating glaciers of the Ice Age created the stunning landscape of plateau, sweeping valleys, natural lakes and free-draining soil on which Esker Hills is built.

Add the genius of Christy O’Connor Jr. and you have a golfing gem in a unique setting with 18 holes of championship golf, where no two holes are remotely alike. Noted for its distinct links feel, superb greens and warm welcome, Esker Hills is one of Ireland’s finest courses and a golfing experience not to be missed.

Note: Eskers are a fascinating geological landscape feature. Sometimes perfectly symmetrical, sometimes narrow crested and sometimes plateau topped. They have their own unique flora and fauna. They were reputed to have been the great highways of early Christian Ireland.
