The East Coast & Midlands Region is made up of 8 counties – Louth, Meath, Westmeath, Longford, Laois, Offaly, Wicklow and Kildare.
Kildare - Golf was played in Kildare before any other county in Ireland and in September will become the centre of the golfing world when it hosts the 2006 Ryder Cup Matches.
As well as The K Club, the county boasts numerous wonderful golf courses including the current Irish Open venue, Carton House and the magnificent PGA National.
Louth - “The Wee County” of Louth is another traditional golfing area with some of Ireland’s oldest and most respected courses - for example the famous Co.Louth links course at Baltray which staged the Irish Open in 2004.
Wicklow - Wicklow has more golf courses than any other county in Ireland’s Ryder Cup Region and boasts some of the best! From the internationally renowned Druid’s Glen Resort to the spectacular links of The European Club.
Laois - The Heritage Golf Resort in Killenard, County Laois, designed by Seve Ballesteros and Jeff Howes is a modern classic and one of the best new golfing developments in Europe in recent years.
Offaly - Traditional parkland courses complemented by wonderful excellent new developments such as the Christy O’Connor designed Esker Hills, makes Offaly a great location for wonderful golfing choice and superb value!
Meath - Meath is fast becoming one of Ireland’s premier golfing destinations, with well known courses such as Laytown & Bettystown and Headfort to newer courses of stunning quality such as Knightbrook and Rathcore.
Westmeath - Westmeath is home to two of Ireland’s best known courses – Mullingar, home of the prestigious Mullingar Scratch Cup and Glasson, a spectacular course on the shores of Lough Ree.
Logford -
Longford is shortly to be home to one of the most exciting developments in Irish golf.: Retief Goosen’s first Irish course at Carriglass Manor, just outside Longford Town. Set on a 600-acre walled estate, this E160M development is set to become one of the top golfing venues in Ireland.
